Proper gear is KEY. One piece of advice that I always hear is to find gear with multiple types of use.  Not only does it cut down on space since it serves multiple purposes, it’ll usually make the job less of a headache to get you on your way quicker.  With that said, I’ve always been a fan of Gerber Gear.
